A native of Spain, Aurora G. Morcillo moved to the United States in 1989 where she received her Ph.D. in Modern Spain and Gender History. Her first book is entitled True Catholic Womanhood. Gender Ideology in Franco’s Spain (Dekalb: Northern Illinois University Press, 2000). She is working on a second book “The Seduction of Francoist Spain. The Female Body at the Center of Sexual Politics.” Dr. Morcillo is an Associate Professor in Women’s Studies and History at Florida International University.
