GENEVIEVE KYARIMPA
Professor of Political Science Markerere University, Uganda
Ms. Genevieve Enid Kyarimpa, currently a Ph.D student (Public Administration) at Florida International University, is a Lecturer in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda. She attained her MA in Development Studies specializing in Public Policy and Administration at the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague.
Ms. Kyarimpa’s main research interests include women and politics, democracy and democratization, and administrative reforms. She has been part of research projects dealing with Decentralization in Uganda and the Role of Women in Uganda’s democratization process. Ms. Kyarimpa has published and presented various papers at conferences and workshops. Her most recent presentation in the area of women and politics was made at the 8th International Interdisciplinary Congress on Women, held at Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda in July 2002. Her topic was “Women and the World of Peace-Making: From Village Councils to International Resolutions”.
